Hey everyone need some help if anyone can help yesterday I started playing snooker again after about 2 years of not playing , last night I went to the snooker and played 3 n half hours solid anyway when I woke up this morning I noticed my shoulder joint on my bridge arm (lleft) is killin me really painful! I was just wondering If this has happened to anyone else? Maybe I was putting all my weight on it or something? Cheers
Yeah... Just played for a bit too much after a long gap... Play more in shorter sessions... Your bridge arm will better accustomed to your stance position and you won't feel the pain afterwards. Hope that helps
Cheers mate Iv also noticed my arm was dead straight and sort of going down to low into shots putting all the pressure on my shoulder joint basically, just gone through my action on the kitchen table and can realise why it's hurting now
Sounds like a rotator cuff nerve issue. When you put put pressure on your shoulder like that the muscles tense up and release when the pressure goes. However after a while the muscles get tired of contracting and releasing so they just stay contracted which "pinches" the nerve and gives you the pain. My only advice would be to apply an anti-inflammatory cream and heat pack to the shoulder. With the cream and heat pack in place, slowly rotate your shoulder which should allow the muscles to relax and take the pressure off the nerve. Bear in mind though that I'm only going on what you described and without being able to see you I'm unable to give a definitive diagnosis or treatment plan. I hope this helps.
For an anti-inflammatory I would suggest something like Reparil Gel, Voltaren Gel or Nurofen Gel. Deep Heat is more of a short term solution and doesn't work on everyone. Get a wheat pack or gel pack that you can put in the microwave to heat up, (You should be able to get all of this from your chemist). If you can't find those gels, let me know what you can find. I should be able to make a recommendation for you if you need.
I hope this helps, but again without being able to see you I can only offer advice. This is by no means a definitive diagnosis.
