Can anyone recommend a proven coaching book please, that takes someone from the basics up to intermediate level. I'm always asking questions of the kind folk on here, maybe I need to do some reading of my own.

Harder than you think is a beautiful thing.
Possible Steve David books I remember as being quite good. Think terry griffiths also had a few out. There's plenty on the net to go at.
Always a pleasure

Frank Callan's 'The Snooker Clinic' is the classic one. 'Snooker & Billiards' by Clive Everton is also worth reading. The internet provides a load of good works too, such as P.J. Nolan's practise routines for instance.
Ten reds and not a colour...
Check out the snooker gym which has loads of books and dvds by Nic Barrow.

The 'bible' of snooker is considered to be Complete Snooker or How I play Snooker by Joe Davis but sometimes these are very hard to find although I see an advert in the latest SnookerScene magazine for a whole raft of books, including this one, for sale.
I use the Joe Davis book and also the Frank Callan book myself along with TheSnookerGym stuff. I also have Terry Griffiths' book and Clive's book too. I lost my Steve Davis book by loaning it to some dip-sh*t years ago
