worn out tip?

hi my tip at the moment is really worn out and its starting to crumble round the sides , but about 2 weeks ago i was playing really good and now im playing bad and missing alot! do you think thats because of the tip? i ve order some elkmasters , should i still play or should i wait for the new ones.
