Hi, I was just watching the Davis vs Burden match on Youtube and noticed that Davis' cue wasn't his usual one with the joint through the splices. Anybody know anything about it or if or why he's changed cue?![]()

Davis had a 3/4 cue made by parris awhile ago. Its now sold as the ambassador cue. Maybe he's using that again

I tweeted Steve a few months ago about buying a Parris Ambassador and he said he was gonna use his old cue this season as a bit of a challenge.
well that does surprise me with all the world class cue makers he had to choose from he went for a John Parris
well what does Steve Davis know anyway. After all john's best day's are behind him now and he stopped making good cue's about 12 years ago![]()
Steves reply to my tweet.
@SteveSnooker: @markzsports @parriscues not sure what it was called but I won 97 masters with it. Gonna play with it next season for a challenge
steves original cue he had made into a 2 piece by john parris just before the uk final he contested with jimmy. the joint went through the very top of the splices but i dont think the cue was a parris. he played a screw with the rest off the last pink to gain position on the black which he potted to win the match. after he said he would never have been able to play that shot with the cue before the joint because of the added weight and different balance it gave the cue. if you get a chance in life check out jimmys 140? break to go 5-2? up in the match and ask yourself why you love snooker when you see his last pink! davis later had a parris cue made to match the specifications of that cue but with the splices further up and the joint at its more regular position below them.
