the man is a true sporting legend, how many players has he outstayed....even Hendry, and he still keeps coming back.
Playing well again,really hope the cue has helped him and he keeps up some fine form,
snooker needs him.

Depends really how well they can compete imo, i think when it gets to the stage that people say "oh you should have seen him 20 years ago" or words to that effect then they probably have stayed around too long. Personally i think Jimmy White is a prime example of that, Steve Davis seems to make the TV stages much more than White does, and on the odd occasion that White is on tv he's stated nerves as a reason for not playing well, and before that when he was dropping down the rankings he used to say "im playing well in practice, i just cant produce it on the match table".
White said numerous times years ago he didn't want to play after he hit 40, he's 50 now and still playing, not sure if its out of necessity or not these days though.![]()

In Saturdays Mirror, there was a lil' snippet about the Davis, Burden match. Davis was quoted saying something like having 'a new cue', calls it 'The Beast', 'loads of power' and 'it being best cue he's ever had'?
Any developments on exactly what he's swinging? :
I contacted John Parris about this and here is his reply;
Steve picked it up two weeks ago and is really getting on well with it, says it’s the best cue he has ever played with. His previous cues had quite a slim shafts, this one has our standard taper and is a bit heavier than his last cue about 20oz. That’s why he has nicknamed it The Beast.
wonder if it is a 'standard cue' and not an ultimate? or standard badge but specifically selected shaft etc
Thanks for that Ferret!![]()

"You have to play the game like it means nothing, when in fact it means everything to you" Steve Davis.
