Give the lad a break and close this thread, he was wrong, he had the balls to apologise, i'm sure anyone who has taken offence could play the bigger man (no pun intended) and let it slide!

Knowing Simon (Inoffthered) as I feel I do, I don't think there was any bad intention in posting what he did. He's a polite, easy going kind of guy and has never been at all offensive in my experience of dealing with him.

However, it's not really for anyone else to tell Ken (another great guy and someone I have got to know over the last few years) that any term is not offensive. If he has been offended by the use of a term which is widely considered as such, then it isn't anyone's place to tell him to let it be and tolerate it.

I think as Simon states himself, he wasn't really aware the term held such potential, has admitted that and has apologised genuinely.

He should be allowed to move on from it, and should certainly not be defined by it.

    Best to all.

Let's all take a breather and get back on track.

John Higgins is using a new TW cue! How's that for endorsement? (ok maybe I may have started another potential off-track discussion )

Well he did put in a disclaimer though.
    John Lim

I agree there is no room for racism and i,m not saying that was Simon,s intention as i dont think that for one minute . The guy took offence he apologised but he,s still being slated .

I heard yesterday that a good friend of mine has cancer in three places and its looking very grim for him , the guy is the nicest friendliest , selfless likeble guy you will ever meet .

I,m off work at the moment but have been told that the women are crying and Andrew is hugging them and saying dont cry over me i,ve had a good life . I cant stop thinking about it myself .

Yes i,m going way off track but if you want to put life into perspective . When i hear things that then come on here and read this , it does make me think wtf .

    That's no age!
I remember a friend of mine going for her first radio therapy, requesting relax, we were all doubled up as she was throwing shapes shouting at the top of her lungs "hit me with those lazer beams"!
It might kill you but you can't let it beat you

I hear you Hotpot. To put things in perspective ( and I agree with you as you're bang on ), last Summer my Mum was
diagnosed with cancer. Fortunately ( if there is such a thing ), it was cancer of the uterus. She had her hysterectomy
on July 4th and the op went well ( hadn't spread ). This was followed by 18 weeks of chemo, then 6 weeks of radio. It was recommended by the Oncologist as the tumor was so aggressive. Fast forward 12 months and by the bless of God, Mum's still with us ( complete with hair again now ) and Dad is recovering well from his triple by pass op that he had in early July.

Doesn't end there tho, in March this year I had a stroke. I was fortunate tho as I only spent one week in hospital ( that
was long enough! ). MY speech had totally gone and my spacial awareness on my left was totally shot. I still can't hold a fork properly ( more like a shovel ) but it's small things like that you just have to deal with.

I've already lost 21lbs ( I'm sat on my ass a lot at work and tbh, I'm lazy when I get home so I guess I had
had it coming ). The MRI scan showed I had multiple strokes ( and this is where I was fortunate ) I didn't have a BIG one all in one go.

Sorry for the long winded post, but after my Mum was diagnosed last year it changed the way I looked at life.

I don't take life too seriously ( let alone myself ) and my thoughts are with your friend Hotpot.

    Peace out.
