  • Cue Alteration Help

I have a nice Sheridan that plays really but is only 57" and 8.8mm tip.

If I had it altered to 58 and 9.5, by having butt extended how much would it effect the balance and playing attributes.

    Thanks if anyone knows.

To get from 8.8 to 9.5 is prob about 3 inches of tip so 4ins on bottom so quite a lot would assume.

it depends of the taper of the shaft but you would loose at least an inch off the top and then that bit extra on the back, the combination of the balance point, bit more weight and most importantly the resonance. it would be like a different cue. you may like it but in experiences iv always had to take some meat out of the shaft to try and get that vibe back, and although i got them near to how they were the cues still played different

I would say it all depends on how long you have been playing with this cue...if not long the you would not notice any difference but if you have been playing with this cue for some time then it will feel strange to you..

Sounds a bit too much of a gamble, will leave as is for now
