Good work I can see a lot of effort has gone into that!
I hope you fill the 64 places however at £50 a man I think it'll be tough (I hope i'm wrong and may enter if the entries fly in)

We had this cool write up the other day!
Big shout out to Chris Gaynor...

              BLASTING NEWS

Pool/Snooker player #Jason Lawrence has organised the first National Expo to be held in May in aid of #Prostate Cancer UK after being inspired by a Sky Sports short documentary on Soccer Saturday.

He decided to organise an event at the Hazel Grove Snooker Club in Stockport which will run from the 26th to the 27th May with 200 players expected to hopefully turn up.

Those who do play can also try out products such as a new EXCLUSIVE snooker cue soon to be on the market.
              Get Involved
Lawrence, 46, from Bolton, who has played snooker for around 35 years and played US pool for the last 10, in an email said: "The National Snooker Expo is the first of its kind in the UK.

I was inspired whilst playing professional American pool in the USA by their vast array of tournaments and expos."

Currently, one man dies every 45 minutes and that's more than 11,000 men every year dying from the disease making Prostate the most commonly diagnosed cancer in the UK.

Lawrence added: "I am also really chuffed to have the event supported by Prostate Cancer UK. We lost our uncle to this nasty disease over two years ago and the support they have extended to us is exemplary to how charities can make a difference."

Whatever you do, big or small, get out there and help #Raise Awareness of this deadly disease.

He added: "Unfortunately, I won't be playing in the event myself as I am the sole promoter and my hands are full all weekend. But the level of anticipation we are receiving from the public has left me both humbled and filled with excitement!."
              Some Stats
Currently, according to some stats, men over 50 and with a history of the disease in the family are more likely to become affected.

It can cause devastating problems such as erectile dysfunction, the very thing that strikes at the heart of being a man.

James Beeby, Director of Fundraising at Prostate Cancer UK, added; "It's fantastic to see Jason has organised the National Snooker Expo to raise funds for PCUK. "It's an incredible effort, one that will help us make Prostate Cancer a disease the next generation of men do not fear."

Stephen Fry, who is also a snooker fan, and a regular attendee of the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield when the annual World Championships come on, admitted recently that he had been receiving treatment for Prostate Cancer in a 13 minute video.

He said the cancer had been aggressive.

              Watch the video here below:

On the Prostate Cancer UK website, the Chief Executive Angela Culhane saluted Fry's brave decision to tweet about his condition to his followers on the social network.

He also tweeted an infographic, see embedded tweet above...

              The Expo
On the Snooker Expo website, it reads: "The National Snooker Expo 2018 is a corporation lead event designed to bring both players, enthusiasts and the billiards industry under one roof."

It adds: "The N.S.E will have you and your friends wanting more and more snooker. With fun packed events and snooker equipment to test before you buy, makes this a unique public experience."

              Visit nationalsnookerexpo.com for further details.

And, DONATE to the cause by visiting justgiving.com/fundraising/nationalsnookerexpo to help support Jason Lawrence's worthy cause for the charity.

Finally, visit prostatecanceruk.org for all the details on Prostate Cancer and how to be aware of it.

                EXPO NEWS:

                Tournament Registration Clarified

It has come to our attention that many snooker players feared for their entry places amidst the appending clash with the World Snooker Q School qualifiers.

                We confirm that:
Registration for our Main Event:- The Black Heart Snooker Classic Open will close at 11am on Saturday 26th May 2018.

This means that players participating in Q School who wish to also compete in our tournament will still be able to enter on the morning of our event.

We stress that tournament spots and hotel rooms are filling up fast and we urge players to sign up a soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

We also confirm that our Amateur 9Ball tournament will now start on Sunday 27th May and will be a one day event only. This will allow players who want to compete in both our Snooker and Pool events can do so without fear of any match timing collisions.

                  Hi Guys,

For those who use Master Chalk...
                  What is your preferred colour?
Personally I use the green, but just want to know what others are using...

Why not start a new thread? I use green, but I steal most of my chalk from snooker halls. I don't do it on purpose, just forget to take it out of my pocket. I'm sure I'm not the only one.

That's correct. We have changed the format.
NOW 32 go through from the round robin.... Which means players now have a 1 in 2 chance to qualify from their group!
