        To me when I miss with a decel (and I have had a minor problem since I came back to playing snooker after a 5 year lay off)
        it tends to be a lack of confidence in getting through the white, my coach has often said when I've asked about this 'tell the ball to go in don't ask it to go in' asking it to go in is a decel in his words.

        So that lack of confidence I think for me comes down to the line im selecting and I cut the ball again in my mind when I quit on the shot it's because I'm not confident in the pot and I'm trying to pot it twice once with my eyes and once in my mind and thats when i duff it.

        I don't know if this helps, I certainly don't know if it applies to everyone I kinda agree with what Hendry is saying based on my experience but I could be wrong.
