Why are cue extensions generally cheap crap?

I have always wondered why people want ebony mini butts - they are too heavy and it is a waste of ebony - spend money on the cue by all means but on an extension that you use once every 10 hours of play is madness.

it could well back fire this trick though!

You understand the guy with a Range Rover, who also has a Ferrari in the garage he seldom uses though right?

you miss the point - you don't tow your speedboat with the Ferrari and you don't go for a track day in the range rover.

Not sure it’s what people want but what someone has for sale. Pretty much every cuemaker sells mini butts in ebony only(mostly)and there’s no need for it but to bump price up a little on them. A mass produce plastic one is far better balance wise for cue and hell of a cheaper too.
I hardly ever use mine(6” mini butt) as always grab the smaller telescopic for out of reach shots as feels better.
May look to reduce the ebony minito around 3” as feel it maybe more useful that size...we’ll see.

Ahh, so you think they have no real use. Fair enough.

I guess wanting things is nice, it's a dull world when there is nothing left to want, (that you can afford that is). There's not that many items to buy on snooker list, unless you are a cue collector.

I made a matching mini butt for my last cue and will get round to doing one for my newer one.
Happy to make matching mini butts of people want them and have seen a few makers do them.
For that one you've always wanted...
