Please excuse my ignorance, but how would a dowel cutter be used to prepare the cue for a ferrule being fitted?

I had a machine but rarely used it I just used a mini pipe cutter a sharp Stanley knife and a fine file.

You must learn to be patient. Give the poster time to ponder.

Just asking as the poster would always be given first pick for it

I'm only joking with you. There doesn't seem to be any second-hand ones available at the moment.

Andrew from ADR has kindly offered to order a brand new one. I'm just waiting for the owner/manager of the local snooker club to make a decision.

I certainly don't fancy the idea of using a pipe cutter and Stanley knife. That might be a good option for a very rare on-off, but I've got quite a few to do. I have had experience of using a machine and it make the job fast and easy.

I'm doing them by hand at the mo and want an easier way to get them done as I've now got 4 to finish and 10 to make for a snooker club.

I missed getting one for around £50 on eBay and kicking myself now...
