John Taylor & Son, Edinburgh, Limited, established 1825, and for many years at Princes Street, went into voluntary liquidation immediately after the war (October 1945). The billiards side of the business, together with the trading name, was bought by W. J. Brown and A. Ross Hewitt, who thereafter continued to trade from West Newington Place. This looks like a cue from that period, and must date from before 1968 when the company ceased trading completely.
