      • Does anyone know if they list cues with smaller tips suitable for pool still? Everything seems to be 9mm+ at the minute.

        • I don't know if these are related......or even if the cues are of the same standard, but I have a suspicion that they may be developing this to establish a new outlet. Of course it may just be fake grands.....

They have some of the smaller sizes.

I've bought a plain ebony one piece, to check them out. Made an offer on a purpleheart spliced as well. Will give an opinion when it arrives.

          • As an addendum, I have previously spoken to "Matt" at the sun-mail ebay account. I've recently had communication with the sport0007 account, with a "Matt". The same person? I can't be sure, but I think so.

I think these "Grand" cues are of broadly the same provenance.

They do seem to be listed in a similar format also, I agree they're probably the same. Hopefully they'll add some more smaller tip ones soon. I'd quite like to take a punt on one of these!

              • I noticed the other seller and thought they were the same too.

                • These ones aren't made by a fish though, not as good IMO.

Took me a while to realise what you were talking about!

I've sent them a couple of messages, no replies as yet though.

                        • I did see those. Not keen on the remaining designs/specs but perhaps they'll add more

Don't suppose the cues you ordered arrived yet?

Anyone think these are the same as Woods cues just with a different badge?

                          • Yes....I've actually received them today....the purpleheart and the plain ebony. They are very nice, but I wont really have a view on them until I've refinished them. I'm currently working on my previous grand which was poorly finished, but is coming up nicely.

I paid £115 for the two newest grands, the case, and an extension and mini-butt. It's an absolute steal at that...they are well worth it. I personally think the grands are more traditional splicing designs than the woods (I have a woods, for comparison). Also the grands are generally better balanced with a nice feel...for me at least (and given I don't have a statistically significant sample).

I've accumulated six one piece grands now, from the two sources, and my personal view is that the offer great value for money....particularly if you like a lighter feeling cue. They don't compete with my Butters in the solid hitting stakes, but they are undoubtedly nice cues.

I will post more in a couple of weeks or so, when I've refinished them. Ultimately I might shorten a couple of them slightly so that I can put a slightly bigger tip....but I've bought them at a length that allows me to do that.

                              Thanks for the reply.

The one I've seen I like most is a grand but wrong specs for me:
                              http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Grand-3-4-...gAAOSwezVWtsL3

But then I saw a very similar woods with better specs, but that doesn't look as nice:
                              http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3-4-Handma...-/111875557657

Might be best to wait and see if more are listed

                              • Guy I fancy another punt on a grand cue but like you it's just a case of waiting for the right specs, it can be a bit frustrating.
