That's an interesting joint. Would work well for a seamless mini butt joint with flat like bob Mike king and myself would like.

JRC knows his stuff...........it is the cuecraft dot to dot quick release joint a good idea in theory, but the joint doesn't age well in my experience as too much wood is bored out to fit them so can cause cracks in the wood due to metal/wood shrinkage/expansion and also doesn't always stay tight when closed.
The 1klik joint is one of the best i've seen as an sd joint for mini butts/telescopics seen them on quite a few Tony Wilshaw cues.

I guess it’s only for the butt joint. But, I may be wrong.

wow! a James Howard cue from 2008! I believe he used only the very best transfers in those days!
and not forgetting the extra layers of thick varnish as well! Quality - I cant see from the photos but does it have the invisible-glue?!
              a rare 1/2 jointed version!
every cheap, should be at least £1,000!
Obviously someone does not know the value of this masterpiece they have in their hands!
              Up the TSF! :snooker:

Alleged to be an Ions cue, though has a dodgy weight and has secondary splices on it.

Weight might be an easy fix, but also might not
Would like to see pics of those splices, at moment you have to buy blind ??

Would be difficult to find one that's 30mm diameter though, the generic size is around 25mm for the 3/4 point.

                      • Caught my eye, not the old best, but a pretty cue nonetheless, late 60's? What do these generally fetch?

It's been listed quite a few times that one, looks a nice cue so it must be the £150 starting price that's the issue they tend to go for around £100 - £125 ish, but some old handspliced cues not reaching £100 these days.
