  • Which of these three cues is best?

Hey, so I'm fairly new to snooker and think it's about time I got my own cue. I found these three which all seem to be pretty good value - my question is: Which is best?

    https://www.peradon.co.uk/cannon-cue...w=1753#product
    https://www.amazon.co.uk/Power-Class...oding=UTF8&me=
    https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/...SDF0Z9VO&psc=1

This cue could end up lasting me a while, so please think carefully and tell me which seems best. Also, if anyone knows of a good hard (so the cue doesn't warp on my back) case with a shoulder strap (so I can cycle with the cue), then I'd be really greatful.

    Thanks!

I would contact adr147 on here and lots of others will second this as he has great cues at a good price. I have a peradon halo go case (Google it), brilliant case with shoulder strap, so would recommend that
I went into a chemist and asked for a deodorant, the assistant said "ball, stick or aerosol", "No, I want it for under my arms!" was my reply.

Of those three, I would have most confidence in the Peradon. However it is more to do with how the cue plays and that is something which is unique to you.

As for a case, I recently got a Cue craft 3/4 aluminium case on the advice received on here and it is indeed a very solid, good case.

They'll all be much the same for the money. The case will likely cost as much as the cue, so might be worth looking at cue and case packages if you want to keep costs down.

You'd obviously get a better cue if you spend more, but I don't want to make assumptions about your budget

Hi Zach. I wouldn't fancy any of those cues TBH. If it's something "cheap and cheerful" your after its worth spending a little bit more and getting something which will play ok.
Worth looking at the Greenbeize "starter packs" for £75. Cue, case and mini butt. If you were to phone Stu at Greenbeize he would help you find something suitable. £75 isn't a lot for something which could last you a long long time.

I think there's probably limited options, since you want to cycle with your cue. I'd imagine a 3/4 cue case would be awkward because of the length. I wouldn't have thought Greenbaize carry centre split cues in their stock. The budget end of Peradons line in probably a good bet, and realistically they all have an equal chance of playing okay, so just get the one you like the look of, and ideally in a package which includes a case with shoulder strap.

My friend got one of those peradon canons as we started playing snooker recently. From my beginners perspective I was pretty impressed by it as it's a nice cue. The chevrons on his are nice and it's clearly made from the same bit of wood (unlike my own ebay special) as the joint has been fitted so it lines up. The taper was a little thicker than I was expecting, but it plays well and has a good finish, nice weight to it. The splicing looks great to me too. Admitedly I'm only going off that one I've seen but given the brand I'd say it would be a good bet that would be hard to go wrong with. They'll be near the top of my list to consider when it comes time to replace mine.

I stopped doing Cannon and Peradon cues for a while but I kept getting asked so now stock them again for those that go to the website.

I guess it depends what you are after and people are all different that's for sure.
