  • Where Does The Green Go?

I had a situation last night with my opponent where he potted a red and then potted the green, the green spot was then occupied by the white which was just in front of the green spot towards the black end. All the other spots were occupied. Where should the green go, in front of the white towards the black end or not?

Yes, so he probably snookered himself on all the reds ?

We ended up putting the green in front of the brown because we both wasn't sure about where it should go. There was a red behind the green spot in the baulk end that he could've hit though if we'd put the green where it should've been!

If all spots are occupied then balls will go as near to their own spot as possible on a straight line towards the nearest part of the top cushion... ie on a line parallel to the side cushions, and must be placed so that they are not touching another ball.

With the baulk colours it can seem odd because an obstructing ball can be down table of the spot and not leaving quite enough room for the spotting of the colour, so it goes even further down table, and NOT as many believe, as near its own spot as possible.
