  • A W Chick Match cue no. 5

I have this what I think is a very rare cue on ebay as I haven't seen one before, but it begs the question is there a no. 1, no. 2 etc ??
And what is the number 4 after Birmingham signify ??
Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/263096970743

"4" is the postal area code. The numerical code was introduced to Birmingham some time around the mid-1930s.

yep the "Birmingham 4" is the old postcode (Edgbaston I think)
the "No5" I thought was the possibly the "splicing" of the cue, i.e. No5 was for the alternating wood on the butt but I have seen a No5 with ebony butt with a birds-eye maple front splice on a green veneer, so that kyboshed that idea
        Up the TSF! :snooker:
