      sry overlooked your posts,
well i like to hit a fews balls after iv weighted them so as to build a picture in my mind about the cue and how it plays in relation to its specs. then i'd work into the cue to help it play to its optimum

      .

Does each cue change much when you add the splices? As regards playability that is?

        • not that much, a bit of feel maybe. unless your adding length, weight or taking a lot of meat out of the cue.. its really to get to know the hit before the finishing process

Yeah I just wondered as regards the splicing. Looking at say ebony, the wood chart says 50% heavier than ash.

Sounds like a good idea though. I'll bet you can't wait to get to the table with all those cues. I guess that's the high's and low's when you get one that hit's like a dog but looks good or vica versa.

took this cue back down the workshop today for a referrule. i saw it was just over 58"and i thought if it came down by 10mm and took a bit more out of the last 15" of the shart i could put a bit more of a sting in its tale.
so the cues now just under 58 at 1465mm and with a nice traditional 9.2x10mm long ferrule, one of a few i picked up from osbourn. he said they were the same ferrules he put on the cue he made for ronnies a few years back..

No rest for the wicked then mate.

Liked your cueing in the video as well. Good length pause and then right through, nice and positive.
