Interesting cue

Anyone know what a maple Mannock is worth? It has the original Burroughes & Watts badge. Of course these were machne spliced but think this one is a rare one.

The ash is worth a lot more than the pear, as is the maple as they're rarer. Have to be careful though as that later pear cues were apparently unsteamed and look like maple.

many original old mannock cues had horn ferrules, what is rare to one person newman doesn't speak for everyone.

Me neither, although there was one on ebay a few months back.

Owner didn't seem to know it was ash either, but it definitely looked ash , and with long horn ferule.

It went fairly cheaply too as I recall.. Having just bought one a couple of months earlier for £250!
The one I picked up is a nice player too, 9.75mm on the tip with the original horn/bone (whatever it is) ferrule - some of the things you read would suggest all cues that aren't 58' and 11mm aren't original, complete nonsense of course, people played with all lengths, weights, tip sizes back then just like today.

actually you think about it it makes perfect sense what you have just said,like now we all get our cues handmade or measured to a particular length tip size etc, so whats saying they didn't do that in the old days.

I recognize the name but don't have a grasp on his history. I think longbomber will have some details though. He made the first century break in Canada in 1923 in Winnipeg I believe.
