What a competitor Alex was! Incredible pots and snookering in this clip. Under extreme pressure too, playing for your country in the final of the World Cup against the Grinder!

Enjoyed this clip, it show's what a great safety game Alex had as well, he was always really up for these World Cup games, seemed to give him an edge somehow. Loved the way he came over to Cliff to shake his hand after he'd just gone in off to cost him the frame !

Id never seen this before- as you say his safety was top class. The snooker with running side, perfectly weighted to drop behind the black was a touch of genius. Then the blue he potted was true Hurricane - wonderful action - a stroke like that was pure timing. Have to say, I was disappointed with Clive and John for not following those two shots up with some exuberant words, like Oh - that is truly brilliant!!!
