Default I've gone all Mark King !

Been struggling with my game lately , only playing 4 hours a week but not playing well at all [ well for my standard that is ! ]

Then started tinkering a little bit........still nothing doing and trouble releasing the cue .....snookeritis !!! , but last week i remembered what an old pro said to me a few years ago .

He said have you tried changing your stance and bending both legs . Assume that he looked at my stance , and thought that this may well help me .

So , 3-1 down last week in my regular session with my team mate , i gave it a go .

And it seemed to work . Started playing better , and for some reason it eliminated the issue i had with releasing the cue [ Probably purely coincidental ]

    Ended up winning 7 - 6 .

Looking forward to having another go this week .

Was wondering if anyone else on here has made slight adjustments to their game , off their own back and it improved their standard of play ?

Not holding the cue at the butt but two inches further up. Felt an element of control that was much better

I was practising solo the other morning when I thought I would try playing with my back foot turned out a bit, I normally play with it straight on the line of shot. I've got a few extra lbs lol so I think turning my foot out got my body out of the way. I started cueing like a dream, so much so I took a video of myself on my phone so I could show a coach I sometimes see.

Mmm. Me and you both Neil.

I found with a shorter cue I have a more compact stance and now push through the ball a bit better (shorter backswing as well).

Sometimes when you alter things a bit and are concentrating on that the backswing and delivery becomes somewhat unconscious and you play better. Nothing wrong with bending both legs as long as you can stay still.

Another point, turning the back foot out a bit from the line of aim will give more stability and also take the straing off the ankle and knee joint.
