Fake Accounts

Can we not get something done about all of these fake accounts? I'm sorry to keep banging on about it, but it really isn't a good look for the site. How on earth can we be taken seriously when we have thousands of 'members' with no posts and high breaks in the many hundreds? Like this one with a high break of 654:

They keep coming every day, It's ridiculous and can not be at all good for the forum.

You should see the number of new memberships that ARE blocked.
I am sure the system is a good as it can be, the techie assures us he sees a lot more than Neil and I, etc.
I tend to not trawl the new account being created, but I do once they post.

Question, how do you know the one you linked to is a fake account?
A hundreds break could be a billiard player?

I really don't understand this Dean, I'm on loads of other forums and none of them have such an issue. Why is our system so crap in comparison? It just doesn't make any sense.

I don't know, maybe it is vBulletin itself, or the version we are on, or down to money paying for extra cover - I don't know...
maybe snooker is so popular it attracts more computer fans than the other subjects you are also on?
I am not on any other forums any more, so have no experience from elsewhere
As I said above, I don't sit watching newbies joining, I just monitor posts

Was hoping the new resurrected version of the forum would have measures to stem the flow of fake accounts, but being that our latest new member ArtemTor has a high break of 629, it looks as though, sadly, we are still where we were.

I see these fake accounts are starting to appear again, we've had 10 new members in the last hour, as popular as snooker is, I think it's a little optimistic to assume they're all genuine. Bit worrying in the build up to the WC as this is exactly the sort of thing we had just before we got hacked during the final last year.
