Don't change your mind in the balls. Work out what you're going to play before you get down to play it... Sounds simple enough, but it really will help you keep a decent pace around the table.

Cheers Texas, will try that one.
Pottr, this is one of the ten major changes to my game, picking my shot and sticking to it right through, getting my pre shot routine fixed, and clear in my mind, so I can have total concentration on just hitting the contact point, as all the rest has been done, it makes a great difference to my game. Thanks for reminding me, this is something that could slip in the heat of battle.

Don't let the fear of losing be greater than the excitement of winning =p No seriously just enjoy it, win or lose it will be good experience for you. The more you get used to the setup the more relaxed you will become, so give it time and just play your normal game...

              Hi jim

Take your time around the table. Make sure you do your pre shot routine so your mind is clear before your hand hits the table. Stay still on the shot until the ball is in the bag. Focus on the table the whole match and dont let your mind wander. Thats it jim game is in the bag mate. Good luck.

I have never played billiards before, I have to go in early for a quick tutorial, so there will be no pressure .
Thanks Chris, I am really looking forward to it.

How hard can it be , there are only three balls, and I can either just pot the red all the time or go in off and I can do that when I'm not trying.
During the snooker league season I played a few older players and when they were in trouble really tied me up with their knowledge of angles and how the white works, they were all billiard players for years, so I am hoping it will help my snooker game.

This link may be of some help:

                      http://www.englishbilliards.org/basicBilliardsPhase

Basic billiards (broken up into 5 lessons).

                      Good luck!

My favourite players: Walter Lindrum (AUS), Neil Robertson (AUS), Eddie Charlton (AUS), Robby Foldvari (AUS), Vinnie Calabrese (AUS), Jimmy White, Stephen Hendry, Alex Higgins, Ronnie O'Sullivan, Dominic Dale and Barry Hawkins.
                      I dream of a 147 (but would be happy with a 100)

                        Good link Mythman
Well I won got stuck in at number three on my first go, had a funny start, tried to play too much billiards, was behind lad needed 18 i think to win I needed 39 he got six, so I decided I'm not playing billiards any more I'm just potting the red lol, had 18 break ,he missed a cannon by millimetres then i got a 22 and won lol , just kept potting the red off the spot then up to blue spot then back down last shot was an easy in off his white as it was near the middle bag, so my snooker practice saved me in the end. Our number one was a very good player, it's a good game to watch when someone who knows what they are doing is playing.
