  • Help.

Went out to go to the shops this morning, and the wife's rav4 wouldn't open, using the remote.
Changed the battery, and tried again, but to no avail.
Just then, I noticed farther down the street, a group of neighbours standing around.
It turns out, none of their cars' remotes, are working either, and a few of their house alarms
which use a remote, aren't working.
A few cars are ok ( my b class is unefected ).
Talking to a few of the guys, it seems if you open the door with the key in the lock, and drive farther up the street,
    the remotes work fine . . . .

Anyone experienced this, or got an idea what is happening ? I presume that a certain radio frequency is being effected by something,
    but what, I don't know.

did you have a storm last night?
maybe there was a electro-magnetic-field pulse and reset the fobs?
When I change the battery on our cars you have to reset the fob to the car and this means doing a special sequence with the key/fob. The instructions are in the car manual

But when I drive out the street and park up, the remote works fine. . .

Tell me about it. Picard has placed a dampening field around my street.

Google suggests TV signal "senders" can cause an issue - try a street door knock and see if anyone has just bought something recently.. seems quite a common problem.

LOL, as long as it's just the cars they're interfering with . .
