  • Best restaurants you've been to

I reckon the best place I've ever eaten is the Pushkin restaurant in moscow, all the courses were amazing including a vegeterian menu https://cafe-pushkin.ru/en/#2. Where's the best place you've eaten?

Turandot in Moscow isn't far behind if you don't mind palaciale settings and a classical pianist https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RtTYq_tFY9w

I have eaten in hundreds of tip class restaurants but for me - partly because of the wine list and that fact that I have known the family since I was in nappies I will go for Le channel in Calais. http://www.restaurant-lechannel.com/en/

Looks nice, a very clean cut restaurant. Did it have interesting dishes or just a play on the norm?

It is a superb place. I have been to most of the top places in the UK and Europe and it is as good as any and a lot cheaper than Paul Bocuse!

The french are probably the best known in the world at producing the best restaurants. I like to try out different regions too. The Mexican restaurants in the US are decent, so are the Brazilian beef steak houses with their peppers. But i gotta say Russian individual talent is superb, they have an array of chefs with specialised flavours like Caspian caviar to work from. They work with spices too, the whole repetoire

The USA and Mexico don't really float my boat. Europe and Asia for me.

I like mexican to a degree, I like the spice and tang to the dishes but they don't have the variety of Asian and European food. Have you been to the restaurants in Moscow I have mentioned? You should go, I reckon you'd love them

Well then you have every reason to go, the Turandot and Pushkin restaurants aside, it is an amazing city mate. The Red Square and the financial district are better than New York or any other city I've been to. If you can go to the old royal palacies, the one in St Petersburg makes Buckingham palace look like a council house, amazing buildings and that kind of revolt they had is easy to see. The royals there completely milked it.

Peterhofs and the Winter palace are the most amazing sites you'll see. Peterhofs used the tides to power his huge/amazing building, long before hydroelectric has been used. Amazing buildings.

Mr Tangs in NYC. Amazing lobster with garlic sauce over rice. Fresh from the tank. Sushi and chilled/warmed saki is incredible in that city as well, nothing like the UK. For dim sum, forget London, Chung Ying in Brum is the place. The fat duck is also a special trip but obviously, very expensive.
