      No, I think the guy is meaning classic ebony design.

        A traditional that's actually a special...the second pic looks a bit odd with that line under the badge, could be a shadow i suppose.
        I think it is the shadow that you can see on the carpet as well.

          ROS has Ultimate cues with the 'Traditional' design of splicing which came from the old B&W Champion cue designs
          Plain ebony butts can be Classic or Ambassador models.
          Special cues can be plain or any design you want on the ebony or rosewood butt
          As well Paragon and Ultimate can be plain butts as well. Your choice, pay the money

                the design of a single wood splice on top of the thick paler wood as a "veneer" was used on many cues over the years, back in the day,
                but I think the B&W Champion was what JP was thinking of when he designed the Traditional model in the mid-90s
                only my opinion

                see cues Q, R, and S in this selection - B&W Champs with various woods, but the same design
