            • It's horrendous. And it's probably £1200 to buy new!! I would of sent it straight back. Or stick it on eBay and still get double for it

Why is it when these cues show up they're usually either short, or have a stupidly small tip? Seems like most of these cues originally got bought by the short arse brigade who played the crap uk version of pool. Probably explains why when a snooker spec one appears it gets jumped on.

Yeah that's pretty bad to say the least, they're so uneven it makes the veneers look off centered when in reality it's the bottom of one side of the veneers is much lower than the other side.

It's already up at a grand as well with 27 bids.

Would the value take a big hit if someone had the butt lengthened and the shaft trimmed down to fit a more standard ferrule size?

Depends if anyone knew i suppose, odds are this is going to China so a shorter cue will most likely suit. You could get away with lengthening a black ebony cue with a different wood as its a common look, less common to see macassar ebony with 4 other splices so might raise some eyebrows.

The Black Plate badge features the thin font that Will used on all the best custom made to order high end cues.
Some bs there, they just changed the fonts on the badge as some of the early ones had a very thick font, making them thinner gave it a better look.

Only other birds eye maple shaft i've seen was done by Jim Black, pity this is pool spec and a bit rough but still a nice looking old cue.

Is it just me, or does this LOOK like an advert for 5 cues, including a Ye olde ash, only for the description to only
mention 4 of the cues, excluding the YOA ?

It's got a low number so no doubt it will still sell, they can then shorten it (Chinese ?) and probably get it near to 9 mm maybe more
