  • Slimline Aluminium Case

    Hi everyone,

My mate has a one-piece aluminium cue case. I am looking for one the same. Has any one seen one. It has no handle, and is smooth unlike the aluminium cases that have the thin grooves/lines down them.

    thanks

I've never heard of/seen one of them. Is it a one-off job, perhaps?

Stupid question I suppose, but why don't you ask your mate where he got his from?

May I ask why you are particularly after one? Seems awkward having a case with no handle

TBH, Rob, most people with ali cases with a handle don't use it! Don't know why, but it's the norm ... If it wasn't for my buggered-up leg I'd be the same, although I do still sometimes use it as a sort of staff for walking/leaning. Lol

I always carry my case using the handle. Its easier... I've never seen an alumium case without the grooves in it, I've just been looking but no luck. Does the case you are looking for have end protectors etc.? Any more details?

I will try and get a photo. I havent seen my mate for a while but just remember his slimline case. The case does not have any end protectors. We got our cues from Mac Chambers in Rushden many years ago and I gave up snooker for a few years and am now getting back into it. Wonder if he got it through Mac?

It's a possibility. By the way, a friend of mine got a Mac Chambers cue a couple of weeks ago, and is well chuffed with it. It's a really nice, well-made, beautiful cue. Any chance of sharing your little beauty with us on the forum?

But the previous post was about mac chambers cues... And just a normal alu case or a smooth one with no end protectors or handle?

Hi Mike, (Its 2 cue making legends I have met now, You and Mac).

Do you know the case that I am talking about? I am sure they stopped making them a few years back. (Do you have a photo) Really would like to own one if these if you know anyone willing to sell one.

You would not believe how gutted I am....As I said I stopped playing for a few years and guess what, sold it for a song about 8 years ago when I fell on hard times. Now when times are better when I want to get another fantastic cue from the fantastic cue maker I can't. (It was an awesome cue aswell). Maple shaft, Ebony butt, Maple veneers and Rosewood splice. My friend who I was talking about bought 2 from Mac, One snooker and one for Pool, might have to give him an offer he can't refuse!!!

i know exactly what case you're on about.

slim and smooth with rounded sides.

locks are a bit crap though and they don't shut as well as other other aluminium cases.

but i like them anyway. my cue's been sitting in one for about 15 years....

mac and rodney hinde came down to buy some wood off me once and, if i remember rightly, it was rodney who made the cases.

well he had them made anyway. said he had a few left so i had them off him/

but he said he wouldn't get them made again cos it cost too much to pay for a 'run'.

i think if you find one you'll be lucky.

and you're not having mine... :snooker:
