Truly an awesome guide ADR. As someone who's always relied on Elkmasters you've given me a lot to think about. I learned a lot reading the guide, and I love how specific the description of each tip was. Brilliant.

      Many thanks.

it needs a bit of updating now but the idea was to make it as clear and simple as possible and i think it does that.

definitely an amazing guide to tips Andrew. thank you!

btw, how does the tip size affect cueing? Are bigger tips better for playing spin shots, draw shots etc? Because greater surface=more friction. Then again, a smaller dome shaped tip might follow the cue ball's curvature a bit better?

size doesn't really affect spin if shaped properly.
a well shaped tip should only contact the cueball in one small spot anyway
            to get spin on.

with a flat or even large and flat tip you'd prolly be able to perform straighter
shots - at cost of spin.

thank you - it needs updating a bit but i am busy! - it does not effect cueing at all! as for contact its generally, although not totally agreed, that the smaller the tip the easier it is to get spin and the larger the tip the easier it is to pot a long shot.

depends what glue you use. could be seconds, minutes or even hours!

                      I have this glue: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...95fdc5fff149cb

Any thoughts on the length of time for it to fully dry

Andrew... do you agree that the #1 cue tip of the pros is Talisman?
And, if so, would you venture a reason why?

                        Cheers!

OK I have glued the tip onto the ferrule, and the tip fits perfectly, so i wont have to cut it down.
Whats the best way to try and shape the tip now (using sandpaper i assume)??

                            Mike Wooldridge Super Tips

After reading ADR147's advice on tips I decided to buy some Mike Wooldridge Super Tips of his eBay shop.
I have never fitted my own tip before and thanks to the excellent instructions, it went on perfectly! It was almost a perfect fit and hardly needed any trimming. I used Locktite Super Glue Gel and it was ready for shaping in seconds!
I played with it for the first time this afternoon down at The Snooker Farm and the tip felt great!
                            Thanks ADR!
