  • Cue tip sander

    Hi all,

Like many players on the forum, I like to fit my own tips. Though I'm quite amateurish at it though elks make good practice. Does anyone have any tips for getting the glue off the wood on the tip and for getting the tip flat and clean when retipping. Do those rapid cue top sanders on eBay do a good job?

    Thanks in advance

    John

    Cue tip sander

You shouldn't need one a Sharpe blade will take it off just as easy. But they are a good job.

Thanks Darren. How about sanding? Is there any need to sand the tip of a cue lightly to get rid of residue glue?

I use a sharp stanley blade and rotate it evenly on the top of the cue.

I do like the look of the sanders though to get it perfectly flat.

they are handy to reflatten a scrappy ferrule and tenon but if your ferrule and tenon are good then, as mentioned, a blade (Stanley my fav) is well enough to get off the old leather/glue, etc.
          Up the TSF! :snooker:
