I dont really want to do a budget type range, the way I see it is that its as much effort to make a cue with a perfect looking grain as it is to make a cue with a non perfect looking grain, id rather concentrate my efforts on making top quality cues.
Maybe someone ( cue maker starting out ) on the site could use the poor grained ash for learning by their mistakes ?
Can you do a 'budget' range of cues with the useable if not perfectly grained ones?

I do seem to be building up a large stock of unsuitable ash.
Not sure what other uses there are for long squares of ash, might make some stair case spindles or something

I agree with Carlos the last cue the shaft and the grain is perfect IMO. Was this a specially selected shaft for this customer, is the board of this ash different to that of the cue previous? Tell you what if a cue maker could guarantee that quality of ash they would have my custom every time.
Have to say Jason your cues look amazing, especially the shaft selections. If Mr Wooldridge hadn't just emptied my bank balance (worth every penny!) I'd have an order in straight away!
