Why not send your City Boy to Dan Shelton for resplice work and mini butt? Let him comment how good/bad Malaysian made cue is...

      Good idea?

Good idea there. How cold I never taught of that.
Maybe can get some nice butt design

PM Dan Shelton and ask. If I'm not mistaken you can pay him by installment... except for the delivery of course...

Do not bother about the cost for now. Are you happy enough with your City Boy? If no, send the cue to Dan and upgrade. Negotiate with him.

        Cheers.

        • The feeling of City boy is nice and plays very well. Just the butt not very nice, if can I wish to redo/resplice the cue butt.

Later I'll PM to find out more.

          • My turn to show you my collection. Mixture of old, old butts with new shafts, replicas, and new. The 15 year old John Parris classic is my main playing cue, but i always take at least one other cue with me to have a knock about with.

Thanks for comments, i was told by the seller of the JP that it certainly beats any of the modern ones, and i must admit it does feel special, really dark ebony and a lovely golden shaft. Just that i dont have a lot of experience with high quality cues so to me (for now) its my "ultimate"

It was made by JP himself, maybe? You are one of the luckiest person to have that nice piece made by himself. He is a LEGEND.
