Hi,
I had the cushion rails refurbished on my table, also had the rubbers replaced by northern.
While the table plays good, I noticed that on some cushions, the rebound of the cue ball with spin seems to straighten out and kill the speed of the cue ball.
For example, potting the black with a righthand side screwshot to the left pocket as seen from balk should make the cue ball widen the angle when it comes off the cushion.
But it seems to straighten out and the cue ball loses speed.
I suspect it has something to do with the height of the cushions, or rather the nose height which is where the cue ball makes contact.
I measured the cushion height from the slate, and it differs between cushions, i get 39mm on some and above 40mm on other.
The difference between the top of the cushion and the nose should be the same on all cushions so I just measured from the slate to the top.
For experienced table fitters here, could my suspicion that the culprit is the cushion height be correct ?
The table is a Riley Aristocrat.
I searched quite a bit for it, but could not really find and exact specifications for the cushions on a snooker table.
