  • Identifying Tables

I'm talking more specifically about Riley's but it probably applies to all tables. Riley Renaissance is cheaper as compared to Riley Aristocrat. But I've seen websites offering Renaissance with No 10 Cloth, Italian slates, Northern Rubber cushions. Everything can be upgraded to a better quality. So what is the difference in price for? Just the frame?
Also, how can tables be identified? Is it purely based on the leg design and the frame?

The RILEY Renaissance is one of these cheap imported tables made in the Far East. There are lots of companies importing the nasty tables but cheap tables and RILEY would like a share of this market. They simply badge the tables as a Riley. The quality of the timbers used in their construction is very poor, and is prone to warping and splitting. The slate bed on UK made RILEY tables will be Italian (Ardessio Biggio) which cost approx £ 1000 per set whereas the Renaissance use Chinese slates which can be imported at around £ 250 per set.

Each Riley table has a serial number which identifies the table. The RILEY ARISTOCRAT is manufactured in the UK using top quality materials.
