  • Rileys cloth

I have a spare bed cloth. It is marked RLIEYS XXXX MADE IN ENGLAND

Apart from the obvious that it is a Rileys and made in England can anybody tell me anything about it?

I read somewhere recently that Strachan and Hainsworth are the only two companies left in Britain who are still making billiard cloth. Perhaps this was made by one of them for Riley? Simonis is from Belgium and I think there are some cloths made in China for Wiraka and remember, you can't always believe that 'Made in England' statement.

How does the cloth feel? Does it have a fine nap which is pretty short? Is it thinner or thicker than the 6811 you had installed?

Made by Hainsworth or it certainly used to be.

Hainsworth , I think they used to be a partner with Riley services at one time , may even have been a major share holder or partner ?

if they are going to back Riley services then they would have insisted they use the hainsworth manufactureing unit for the riley brand of cloth .

Riley services have since folded though .
