  • Aramith 1g set

    Hi,
Can anyone recommend a good supplier for a new Aramith 1g set. The prices seem to vary quite a bit so it's hard to say what's genuine and what not.

I've always used Craftsmen Cues. Never had a problem with them.

Craftsman looks ok. Just a quick search gives me prices that vary around £30. Saluc don't seem to be controlling the pricing very well.

Craftsman a good price if it includes postage

            if not try https://bowls4u.com/contact-us/retail-shop-address/

he is mainly bowls stuff but does sell these Aramith 1G balls in case for around £199 including postage on ebay
on the basis that ebay take a commission and listing cut he may supply a bit lower price if you go direct .
but at the end of the day £195 is a good price from Craftsman .

or try Cue craft near worksop and speak to Neil tell him Geoff Large at GCL billiards sent you he will be keenly priced .

Just to put things in perspective. Craftsman sell the 3g balls in the blue box for £120. They also sell the 3g balls in a nice aluminium case for £154. There's no difference in the 3g balls versus the 1g balls. Only the tolerance between the lightest and the heaviest is closer. The decision is to do want to pay a fair bit extra for an aluminium case and a set of balls which are within 1g tolerance?
Answer is IMO. Yes I'm going to pay the extra. I'm buying a set of balls which will last me for years if I look after them. When I'm ready for a new set I can sell them on and re-coup some of my costs.

Cue Craft are very good. I would second Geoff's recommendation.

Yes I know them. Operate out of Shandon/Locarno snooker club in Edinburgh. I play there. Reputable and keenly priced. Mostly sells Peradon cues and cases. Also sells all the other snooker accessories, chalk, tips etc etc.
