  • What do you use to mark a spot other than chalk

During my self training at public snookerium, I always wanted to make a spot for repetition, but I wouldn't wanna use a chalk. Any recommendations, other than punch paper.

It's ironic that nobody has manufactured such an item, it wouldn't seem to be too much of a technical challenge, though being such a specialty item it would have to get popular real fast.

That said, I've heard that people use soapstone chalk (link to products: https://www.amazon.com/soapstone-cha...oapstone+chalk), but I'm not an expert on it. When I do Texas Snooker spotting, I use the pool table diamond lines, I've gotten pretty good at spotting colours without actual spots.

Why wouldn't you want to use chalk? You don't need a big mark just a very light one and it can be brushed away afterwards. Don't use the chalk to draw on the cloth, just dab your finger on it and make the chalk mark on the table with your finger.
This is how you play darts ,MVG two nines in the same match!

I just use normal white chalk - Our club has it for the blackboard section of those old life-pool scoreboards

I just use a very tiny tiny light mark, it rubs out almost immediately
