  • foot slightly inside the line?

Rather than the coaching view that, for right handed players, the shoe laces of your right foot should be under the line of the shot, I tried tonight playing with my right foot may be an inch left of it's usual position ...

It felt great! I didn't have to swing my hips clockwise to avoid my grip hand hitting them and then try to contort my spine so my head was back in line ...

Maybe I was just playing well anyway but it might be worth a try?

Whatever rocks your boat I suppose But how will you be sure you're placing that foot in the exact same position every time? The whole purpose of the back foot on the line of the shot is to have a constant position for that foot and consequently having the same stance on every shot (unless you're stretching on the table or something).

That's my opinion anyway, decrease as many variables as possible and maintain as many constants as possible to achieve consistency! :snooker:
