    would love to see some answers on this, its something i do too and it was picked up when i had some coaching with stefan mazrocis.

      If you drop it after contact it would do nothing to change the cueball reaction as it is long gone.
      On power shots it cushions the forward motion so it may keep tension out of the arm, do it if it feels good.

            I d say well done if you have managed to come to a position where you get £££ for knocking balls around and saying some couple of sentences.

            Especially if you have got there by achievement.
