I'm deadly serious here - do not mention aiming. At least the snooker world is blissfully unaware of the aiming wars in pool, which last decades and cost many lives.

    Some of you are.

Tis true throw is lessened on a snooker table, and it is better to stick to the centre axis . But any table, any balls, any cloth, any cue will produce a reaction when side spin is involved - ye cannae change the laws of physics, Jim.

Because it in no way pertains to the question at hand or premise of the thread. Linking high break with knowledge of side spin is bizarre to say the least.

You're assuming i have a low high break because i understand the physics of the game. How the hell does that work?

    Hi itsnotsoeasy,

Thats why I stated a ""subtle"" amount, so your correct.

I mostly play these shots when potting the black when I want to achieve better position on the next red, or to hold for a red. Plus I play it for my green ball ( and yellow ball ) example above. Good to play and practice to find out how you do.

When I first tried side I thought it was hitting the outside of the cue ball( I don't know if you are the same Tommy) but I learned eventually it's mostly just trace amounts you need half a tip off centre , this obviously makes potting far easier. I'm not saying there aren't times a lot of side is needed but as a rule you normally need far less than you think, as has been said by many just go and practice, the fun is in finding out, but don't think it will take you up a level IMO .
