    Good afternoon all,
Just a query if anyone can help,my apponent I was playing tues afternoon fouled, and I was snookered,so I decided to take a free ball.my query is can you use a free ball to cannon onto your desired ball,in my case was a red.so nominated the green to cannon the red.my apponent said it wasn't allowed.
If anyone could elaborate I would be grateful.
    Thanks
    Alex

Yes, for this shot the Green is in essence a Red, so you can hit the Green (the nominated ball MUST be the first ball contacted by the cue ball), onto the Red and pot the Red.
    1 point

if the Green also is potted, 2 points, the Red stays in the pocket, the Green is respotted.

    game continues

also, if say Yellow is ball on, Green (nominated ball) onto Yellow, Yellow potted (2 points), Green also potted (still only 2 points not 4) but Green is respotted and Yellow remains in the pocket.
