      According to a Tweet from Shaun Murphy he uses an 8.75mm tip (didn't say what kind of tip though)

        I used to many moons ago start with 10mm then went down to 9.5mm now I'm using 9mm.

          That would be the same ferrule size as his old cue that broke.

          I had a 8.2mm pool cue that I also used to play snooker with for many years, then I got the 1pc snooker cue with 9.5mm and the game is much easier now
