    Hi Fellow Enthusiasts!
Just joined the forum recently and thought I'd introduce myself. Been playing this amazing game for 35 years and won't ever get bored with it! I'm a maple using lefty who of course is right handed when using the rest, seems to be a few about! Spent years in my local Lancashire and also Yorkshire leagues, starting on the big tables then unfortunately getting handicapped out of them, giving up to 60 start is outrageous in my eyes! Small table leagues seem to have a fairer system,ie maximum start is 30! I play for a East Lancashire squad when we take on The Fylde Coast in The Gascon Trophy(a charity event). I class myself really as a great squad member because I always seem to win the merit award for games won.I have won numerous individual titles but nothing better than helping a team to the league title. My highest competition break is 115. My highest break is a 142 on a big table and also a 142 on the small table. I have had over 50 centuries in total. Anyway that's about it really. I have had a few operations just lately that have almost put me out of the game. I am just hoping things will settle down soon so I can get back to normal.Fingers crossed.
I do also have about 15 old cues that I have picked over the years, plus numerous nice cases. You can't beat a nice piece of wood, especially when its been made into a cue! My cue I use might be a shock to some, its an old machine spliced Peradon maple! Its a lovely cue to play with! I love it. Anyway I think that's about it really.Hope to be of use to the forum.................Chris

Hi jrc, I have both maple and ash. I got a Willie Smith from a shop for £8 last year,it was bent but I have it back straight now. I could do with getting some of them sorted out by a cue mender, just some of the splices getting gaps in. Need re-glueing and so on. I used to go to Kevin Muncaster at North West Cues at Freckleton, but he's retired now. Not sure how you put pics up on this section, any ideas jrc? Will see if this works below as a link-

                Thanks Neil,
I am really struggling at the moment, neck surgery caused damage to nerves and muscles. Can't get my right arm out properly, all my shoulder numb.Could be 6 months physio before things improve. I had a singles semi on Thursday,I couldn't get my chin on cue until 3rd frame,by then I was 2-0 down,I was giving 30 start also,he is a decent player as well. He had all the blooming run as well! I was 56 behind in 3rd with 5 reds left, managed a lovely finish to take it. But alas,it all went his way again in 4th,I never get the running when I haven't practised! Can't practice, that's the problem.

I had a feeling it was worth a punt at,I am not an expert but knew it was bargain. He probably thought because it was bent it wasn't salvageable!
I have a couple of Barracuda three quarter cases, both are black, strange thing is,one is slightly bigger than the other and lined with a plush red material. That measures 103 cm,the other measures 101 cm. You don't want to know how much I gave for these!

                  The smaller one-
