I ordered a blackbone Ton Praram cue, spoke to jack and got a price, but for peace of mind ordered it through Greenblaise in the end. Stu has been very helpful, but while talking to who ever answers the Ton Praram face book page, they seem to be quite uninterested.

I paid extra for a pro shaft and the cue is costing as much as was quoted for a limited series with pro shaft (not cheap) but when I asked do I get to pick a shaft was told NO! Is that normal? I thought that was the whole point of paying for the pro shaft that you got to choose it for what you like the look of best and was if the higest quality?
For that kind of price I would try Mike Woolridge cues. Bought a Vintage last year. I would say the finish is better than Ton Param, the splicing the most accurate and even I've seen. I had a Beyond series 3, nice but looking but wasn't a player. I couldn't pick the shaft but the shaft has nice arrows but above all it plays very well. Mike Woolridge and Trevor White (in no particular order) are in my opinion the best out there.

Ok thanks for the replies guys. I just got that panic feeling for a second. This cue is a real treat for myself, for the price something I can't really justify, but had the need for a something a little special in my life that I can treasure for years to come.

A friend from work has a Ton Praram limited and it's a beautifully made cue, here's hoping my blackbone looks and plays as nice🤞I was impressed with the quality of the cue which is why ai decided to order my own.

I visited Ton's Workshop this year. Him and his wife were very welcoming and spent 10min with me, but after that they just left me in their shop and Ton went into the workshop and the wife to her desk. They're polite and friendly but not pushy or keen in any way. It's actually quite refreshing to not have the hard sell all the time. They don't bargain or drop prices either. They just appear content with the level of business they have.

Chooisng shafts sounds like a time consuming endeavour - wouldn't be surprised if he wasn't interested in offering that.

Never heard of being able to choose shafts yourself, i think you just pay extra for them to sort through and choose the best available at the time (or wait until one turns up), i could be wrong in Ton's case but that's typical for other makers
