Robertson is the better player for sure and has more of a win at all costs mentality but I do feel he is there for the taking at times and Hawkins if he plays well can beat him .

He looked spent in the parts of the final I watched especially towards the end. It also didn’t help that his decider match was the last match to play .

Listening to a Hawkins after the match really shows why he’s not in the top flight of snooker ,he said he wasn’t too disappointed as he’s had a good week ,losers statement . Can’t ever remember Davis or Hendry saying that

Well done Robertson. He puts an end to his triple crown drought spanning almost 7 years.

Yeah, not a bad tournament all in all, it definitely had some great moments. Shame Hawkins was out of sorts in the final.
I always felt Robertson was going to win it after his great escape the day before. It reminded me a bit of how O'Sullivan miraculously survived his match against Higginson in the 2012 German Masters, then went on to win the title.Robertson is just missing that second World title now to join some of the other all-time greats. With Trump and Selby struggling for most of this season, he might be the favourite going into Sheffield.

Shame but can't see it happening now. Neil was fallible but you can't miss blacks off the spot when you're thrown a golden opportunity at this level.

Let's hope for a good battle this evening. Hope Barry does himself proud at least.
