Pretty crap prize money for qualifying stage but 5k if you make it to Oz.

I think this is not a Flat 128 draw event, but one of the few events that go back to the old format, I think to ensure that the big names go to Australia itself instead of dropping out in the early rounds.
        Anyone confirm?

Top 16 look to be seeded through to Oz but no Ronnie or Ding or Selby either I think. Draw is on World Snooker website for anyone whose interested.

yea it seems there's a tennis-like quali draw and who wins the spots in the quali draw gets to the main draw, at least that's what I understood.

Yes it appears to be the old format as the big names
dont appear until the actual tournament. Hopefully
the fans will support this tournament in Oz.

Alex Pagulayan was defeated 5 - 1 by Ian Burns.
He is getting experience tho and hopefully he can
keep entering and also perhaps see about a coach.
Plenty of snooker tho as this tournament runs
                  until tuesday.

I caught the last frame and a half of Frazz's match, I am sure Frazz would not agree with those who say the pockets are buckets

What a great steal by Mellings. Muir was on 66 and Mellings cleared up.

yes at least he got a frame on the board. definitely needs some coaching and to improve on his break building. could have been a good story but is looking highly unlikely at the moment.

That was a close one. Greene was lucky there.
