  • 2014 Shanghai Masters Quals

Best of 9, and some interesting matches to look forward to.

    Here's the Draw:
    http://www.snooker.org/res/index.asp?event=348

It's on http://www.worldsnooker.livesport.tv/ and the usual dodgy streams I expect.

    The fast and the furious,
    The slow and labourious,
All of us, glorious parts of the whole!

Alex didn't have a very good outing did he? I caught the last 3 frames. Looked like his head was somewhere else from some of the places he was missing from. Felt bad for him. He can play so much better.

It was a good two frames from Alex but his game started to drop off as Astley got back into the match.
Some surprising good safeties by Alex. He's improving.

Does anyone know why Steve Davis withdrew from this? He was obviously given a wild card but his opponent has been listed with a walkover. It's a shame, given that he was apparently given a wild card, that he isn't going to compete.

Just been watching Gilbert Vs Wilson, good win for Wilson 5-1.

however watching frame 6 i thought to myself if Gilbert wins this one to get it back to 4-2 he might have a squeek, however seeing how he played when only last four colours were on made me think he had already given up. still having a chance to win the frame went for 2 extremely ambitious long pots on the brown which ended up him going in off and handidng the frame to Wilson.

i wonder if sometimes players go through this when everything seems to be going wrong and they just give in, they just feel it will be too much of an effort to win the game and just can't be bothered.

just makes you think when you see the likes of Selby never give up no matter how far behind he is, 3 - 0 down against mark Alan the other day best of 7 and won 4-3

Maflin is handing Walker a good old arse kicking at the moment. 2 - 0 in his favour in double quick time.

A excellent 142 from Maflin there to put him to within 1 frame of qualifying.

                              EDIT:-

Well done Maflin. That was a good win.
