Another small tournament with many of the
great players hoping for victory. It will be
interesting to see if Trump and Williams can
carry their superb play forward and if Robertson
    can get on track.
World Snooker coverage starts on the 22nd.

    Thanks for the reminder robertmac.

Yes. I'm looking forward to seeing if Trump can keep it going. He played brilliantly in the Champion of Champions. If he can keep the momentum going then he's on another level compared to the other top 16 with the notable exception of Ronnie who currently is in a class all of his own.

I think it would have been quite a different match
had Trump not gone in off the green as he was
playing extremely well and the frame could have
been his. I am sure the other players are aware
of how dangerous Trump can be.

This tournament is a good test when one the most important tournaments is close, the UK Championship.
Judd Trump is a very good player on short matches, he's a strong favorite to win this one.

I'm going to whack a few quid on Trump to win it outright (11/2), but I'm also tempted to bet on Murphy (10/1 I think) & Bingham (20/1).

            Bets for the 1st round
Graeme Dott to beat Ken Doherty @ 1.50. Over the last seasons Dott always beat Doherty, with UK Championship so close the top players must be playing well. Dott also has good chances of win this tournament.

I'm not sold on Dott winning this, but then again I haven't seen the draw so he may be in with a shout.

On 2nd round Dott should play with Stuart Bingham, tough match. If he wins there is a more accessible opponent on 3rd round, should be Luca Brecel. On the 4th round for sure he will face Maguire, isn't a easy way for him.

This tournament is a PTC, is always played at best of 7.

Think I'll bet on certain matches in the 1st round. Back the usual big guns to go through. I don't recognise ALOT of players names in the draw.

I think Eurosport has live coverage of this tournament from friday.

I've done a 5-fold bet - Trump, Robertson, Dott, Higgins & Bingham all to win their 1st round matches.

Higgins has been playing very poorly and is
due for a good match but I like your picks
                              of Trump, Robertson and Bingham.

Its nice to see some ladies in the tournament
(Diana Schuler, Reanne Evans and Karen Osipov)
and I hope the play well and advance and gain a
                              lot of experience.
