  • Come on Oliver Lines!

    • Lines must be feeling nervous tonight. Had a great chance for 3-1 but blew it, now 4-0.

I watched him this afternoon. I don't care what they say. He hasn't got a broken ankle. I had one earlier in the year and I was in a plaster cast for 5 weeks. Not allowed to put any weight on it and that was a really minor one. I did manage to hobble about on it for the first couple of days before going to hospital. And hobbling is right. Painful. Ronnie looks quite comfortable walking around the table. No way has he got a broken ankle.

              • Also, maybe he doesn't fancy playing peter lines, who has a 100% record against him

                      Thanks tedisbill for the link.

That's confirmed it to me. It's definitely not a break. Looks like he's strained some ligaments there which is good news for us. At least Ronnie will be able to keep playing.

                      • I'm not surprised about Carter defeat on 1st round, recently he had health problems and probably isn't in his best condition yet.
Shaun Murphy wasn't at his best, but was enough to win.
Daniel Wells play better than I expect.

Ronnie, at his best, is levels above everyone else, but come on, there are still plenty of solid players worth watching and some very interesting match ups to come. To say the tournament isn't worth watching without Ronnie tells me you're not a devout snooker fan.

                          • HI I remember watching Alex Higgins play Stephen Hendry in the Irish Masters and he broke his foot and still
won the final against Stephen Hendry

I hope Ronnie Osullivan is feeling better and plays his match on Sunday
                            Cheers Leonard

I heard Carter had an excellent chance in the final 11th frame to claim victory over Zhang Anda but unfortunately could not take his chance. Carter himself, however, said that he felt he played awful during the match and needs to go back to the drawing board but he may not be able to rediscover his best form after what he's been through. I hope to see him play well at the Masters though.
