    [Yeah, scratched. Bite me].

Spot on. He was asking and joking with the ref about the 'cheapness' of the maxi prize and the commentators twigged as well. Everyone saw it coming, like a bus. Well, some of us twigged! lol Only Jan Ver Haas managed to persaude him to pot the black on his 'called' maxi when he began asking Jan what the prize for a maxi was after the first black. If Jan hadn't said c'mon on now Ronnie while literally grabbing him and guiding him to the table, he would have left the black on 140 after he shaked Mark King's hand. He often brags about doing this in practice and in front of Hendry. He prefers it to a maxi, so it was no surprise that he came up with a cheakier way of leaving one whilst also completing a TC. He was pleased as punch afterwards with it, saying 146s were rare. I bet he'd had this plan in his head for some time. Ronnie can be very devious when he wants and very naughty!

This is true. However the romantic in me likes to believe he would have, because he is an amazing talent!

Chopped liver. He didn't do it, you, me, or even him, actually have no idea whether he would have done it. you can speculate all you want, but the fact is that it was not a 147.

Albeit I am new on this forum; HELLO!
I have to declare that I love Ronnie and he has inspired me to take the game seriously again, albeit with a pinch of salt.
Ronnie declining to make a 147 was genius on so many levels. Did the crowd miss out on a 147? Yes they did.
But how many times can a spectator say "I watched a guy refuse to make a 147... Because he can."
Love him - Greatest talent the game has ever seen!

Paddy Power offered the 60k as another of their gimmicks. When asked if they would give it to Ding, they declined saying the prize was only for Ronnie, if he did it. Like Ronnie, they come out of the same chav-monster cradle. Classy are Paddy. Now imagine is they'd given the 60k to charity when Ding did it, as an alternative; as Ronnie should have for doing a cheap maxi.
